On March 4, 2015, Northbrook Lyons Falls presented its project to redevelop the hydropower facility on the site of the existing power generating facility. The meeting, held at the Lyons Falls Volunteer Fire Department, was attended by approximately 50 people and preceded by a tour of the mill hydro facility. The meeting was part of the process for amending the existing Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) license.
Several questions were asked and many attendees remarked that Northbrook’s proposal to rebuild on the same site as the existing powerhouse was a good idea. A copy of the public presentation can be found on the website under the heading “Documents”, and the answers to questions raised are in the FAQ.
Northbrook Lyons Falls has been meeting with and engaging stakeholders and the public on its proposal since late in 2014. It anticipates filing its amendment application with FERC by the end of May 2015.
